My Nimble Fingers welcoming 2026 with healing and handmade creativity

💕Welcome, 2026.💕

Miracles are creative. Healing is the restoration of what has been. John G Lake

It’s been a little quiet here, and yes—perhaps a bit dusty—but I’m ready to gently begin again.

The past year was shaped by unexpected health challenges. I didn’t plan for surgery, but ongoing knee pain led me to make that difficult decision. There were risks involved, and I was given an honest reality check. Even so, I chose to trust my surgeon and the process ahead.

At first, I stayed optimistic. But as the surgery date approached, fear and uncertainty crept in. I struggled emotionally and had to step away from my hobbies. My craft supplies stayed packed away, sewing projects paused, and baking became something I simply watched from afar.

The surgery itself went well, but recovery took longer than expected. I developed chronic nerve pain unrelated to my knees, which slowed my rehabilitation and kept me in a community hospital for almost a month. Despite the challenges, I’m deeply grateful to still be here. I’ll be sharing more about this journey on my Vintage Living YouTube channel.

After discharge, healing and therapy became my focus. It took about four months before I could return to simple crafting. Filming wasn’t always possible, but as my strength gradually returned, I began setting up my camera again and creating—slowly.

As I welcome 2026, I do so with renewed hope. My health is improving, my creative spark is returning, and I have craft and baking projects ready to share. I’m looking forward to a year filled with more making, more learning, and more gentle joy—through crafts, bakes, and sewing.

Here’s to a softer, creative 2026. ✨
